Furness RFU prepared for the new season on the 11th and 12th June by revitalising their ground and clubhouse as part of the Natwest Rugby Force weekend.
The club called on volunteers to spare some time and help re-paint areas around the ground and club house, cut grass, remove weeds, knock down walls, replace guttering and have a general tidy up. The club attracted a strong workforce to undertake the tasks and were able to make the club a more attractive proposition for players, visitors and fans during the 2016/17 season.
Furness RFU requested assistance from local businesses to supply products and services free of charge to ensure the team of volunteers had the means to complete the works across the grounds. Wardgroup were only too happy to help the local sports club with the supply of paint and brushes and we look forward to visiting the club in the future to take in a game of Rugby Union.
Brian Mitchell from Furness Rugby said…
“I’d like to thank you for the amount of paint you sent us for our NatWest Rugbyforce event. We would never have managed all the work without your help, I believe there was about 150 litres of paint of various colours and types. The Blue Gloss was an absolute Godsend and has enabled us to brighten all the faded blue throughout the club, in and out.
Without the help of local support from companies like yours we would really struggle. Once again thanks for your assistance and donation.”
