Wardgroup’s expertise helps local Foodbank
Local businesses have pulled together to provide much needed facilities for the Barrow Foodbank, operating from St Mathews church on Abbey Road. The premises have been badly in need of an upgrade to their facilities and in particular the provision of a disabled toilet with hot water.
Having contributed significantly to the Foodbank over previous years, INS (International Nuclear Services), volunteered to provide the upgrade and involved local business Wardgroup to manage the scheme. Wardgroup provided the plumbing services free of charge and approached plumbing merchant PTS for the materials.
Further costs were met by INS, including; joinery, electrical, and decorating works which were provided at cost price by Wardgroup and MW flooring who supplied and installed new flooring.
Ian Noble, Managing Director of Wardgroup was staggered at the magnitude of the operation at the Foodbank and was happy to offer support where we could, acknowledging that Wardgroup had a corporate responsibility to assist the Barrow community after over 140 years trading in the town.
